Is the pad hard? Other heated beds feel like lying on plastic.

No. The heating pad zips into the base of the nest under the plush cushion, so your pet lies on fluff, not on the element. The heat comes up through the cushion and spreads across the whole floor of the bed and into the sides.

How warm does it get?

Nine levels. Level 1-3 is a gentle, body-warm glow for kittens and thin-coated pets in a heated house; 6-7 is where most senior and arthritic pets settle; 9 is for a cold garage or porch. The element tops out around 122°F (50°C) and a sensor cuts the power if it ever overshoots. Start low: the most common mistake is turning it up too high on night one.

Can I leave it on overnight?

Yes, that is what the timer is for. Set 8 or 12 hours, and the bed switches itself off. It has an overheat sensor, a reinforced cord outlet and a chew-resistant cord. As with any heated product, check it the first day and keep it off a wet floor.

Does it remember my settings?

The timer is an auto-off timer: you press once to start it each evening, and it stops on its own. It does not switch itself back on the next day, which is on purpose: it means it is never running in an empty house.

Which size for my cat?

S (16 in) fits an average adult cat curled up snugly, which is how cats like it. Big cats, Maine Coon types, and anyone who says their cat is chunky: get the M. Two cats who share: L.

Which size for my dog?

Toy breeds up to 8 lb: S. Dachshunds, frenchies, cavaliers, pugs, small terriers (8-20 lb): M. Beagles, corgis, cocker spaniels and other dogs 20-35 lb: L. It is not made for dogs over about 35 lb.

What if my pet will not use it?

Give it the first week: their usual spot, a low setting, one of your worn t-shirts inside. Most pets who ignore it on day one are in it by day three. If not, message us inside 30 days and we swap the size or refund it.

Unzip the base, take the pad out, machine wash the bed cold on gentle and hang or tumble low. Wipe the pad and controller with a damp cloth. Zip the pad back in once everything is dry.

Yes, a standard US plug for 110-120 V outlets. The cord from the controller to the bed is spiral-wrapped so a chewer cannot get to the wire.

Cats absolutely love it
Cats love it. They absolutely love it. I have three crazy kitties and they always love to lay by our heat dish thingy, but we can’t leave it on overnight due to safety reasons. Now they’ve got a bed (probably gonna have to order two more!!) to lay in and keep warm.

My cat loves it!
The warmth is purrrfect! It also heats very evenly, and the heat spreads all the way into the sides of the bed. She absolutely loves it. It's soft. Well worth the money. It was super easy to assemble, requiring almost no effort. The size is perfect too. All of her other beds are too big or too small but this one is perfect for a medium sized adult female. The quality seems nice too. We'll see if it holds up though. I'm very happy with this purchase!!! I've already recommended it to my dad.

Happy kitties
This is probably my cats' favorite thing I have ever bought them! One cat likes it, the other cat LOVES it. Very easy to set up. It does feel nice and toasty. I'm not sure if I am supposed to, but it has been on constantly since I bought it 3 months ago. If this one dies, there is no question that I will immediately buy another one. Highly recommend!

Plugged in or not - the best!
Our cat LOVES this cat bed! He prefers the lowest heat setting but his favorite time to get into it is when it’s off & unplugged, especially with the cord pushed up under the cat bed, (it’s the latter in the attached pic). He apparently really likes to sleep on top of things, like our cell phones, remotes, cords…).

They love it.
Well this is pretty popular either with the cats. I was worried about chemicals on it when it got here so I left it outside for awhile to off gas and kind of washed it. After that it had been great. They both want to use it ! Great but the window. The edge is a good Chin rest. Happy cats.

Get them hooked in the first week

Day 1: plug it in where they already sleep
Put it on their spot, not yours: the sunny window, the vent, the end of the couch. Run it on level 3-4 for a day so it airs out and smells like the room.
Start low and let them choose
Most pets pick a lower setting than you expect. Begin at 3-4, move up one level a night until they stop getting up to cool off. Seniors and thin coats usually settle around 6-7.
Make it theirs
Drop in a worn t-shirt or their old blanket for the first few nights, a pinch of catnip for the cats. Once they have slept in it once, you will not get them out.
Set the timer, forget it
8 hours for the night, 12 for a long day out, 2 to take the chill off after a walk. It turns itself off; you never wake up wondering if you left it on.
